"Psychotherapy is a means of rethinking the relationship with the self "
Welcome to Counselling Psychology Glasgow!
Please note: I am on annual leave until the end of August and will not be able to take referrals until then.
I am a qualified, registered, and experienced Counselling Psychologist based in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. My practice is committed to providing a confidential, safe, and empathic space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences free from judgement.
I work with both adults and teenagers experiencing psychological distress, emotional or behavioural challenges, as well as family and relationship difficulties. I offer trauma-informed and empathetic support to help you work through these challenges and move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
In addition to my holistic and compassionate approach, I am committed to providing an LGBTQI+ affirmative practice, ensuring all clients feel respected, understood, and supported. I also have experience working with multicultural clients and students. My aim is to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, receives the personalised support they need to thrive.
My approach focuses on helping you navigate life's difficulties with empathy and evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Together, we can work towards personal growth, emotional resilience, and a healthier sense of self.
I am a humanistic practitioner and utilise a range of therapeutic approaches, tailored to your individual needs and preferences. These include Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), as well as approaches informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Focusing.
As an experienced clinical hypnotherapist, I also offer hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to support clients in managing unwanted behavioural, emotional, and health difficulties, including smoking cessation. Hypnotherapy and EFT are offered as part of ongoing counselling. For example, by combining counselling with clinical hypnotherapy, it is possible to develop an individualised care plan to support meaningful change in emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a lecturer in applied psychology at the University of Edinburgh. My research focuses on mental health stigma and transcultural experiences in children and families. This academic work informs my practice, ensuring I remain up to date with the latest psychological theories and therapeutic techniques.
